This is a documentation of playthrough of Libertine: King of Hearts. I have made every attempt to include valuable information, regarding placement of items, and dialogue option results. I also attempted to provide some explanations for players, who are following along, who may have made different choices from me. This guide is how I played the game and does not contain the only methods to beat the game.
Mission 0: What Does That Taste Like?
This is the introductory mission, which helps to explain many important features, such as manipulating physics objects to effect other in game props, how the detection and stealth systems are designed to operate, as well as how to use your deployable camera to highlight enemies so you can see them through walls.
This mission has Richard start outside the front garden of the university.
There is a guard at the entrance to the campus, but you will need to sneak passed him. Since you are currently unarmed, any fight is a guaranteed loss.
There are a few options to take here. The game recommends using a physics object to draw the guard away, allowing you a window to slip passed him and continue. However, it is by and large more efficient to simply throw the item at the guard, knocking him out and disarming him, allowing you the first weapon of the game, the Nightstick!
As you continue through the garden, you will notice a guard standing by a large glass door. At this point, the game recommends using your camera to mark as many guards as you can. I will also recommend this. Your next goal is to get through the door that the guard is in front of. When you attempt to open it, you will find that it is locked.
Jeremy then suggests you make your own entry through a window on the left side of the building. When you do, you will find that the stairs on that side of the building are blocked. You will have to walk through the first floor to the stair well on the opposite side of the building. However, it may be easier to ignore the guard, the door, and the left side windows by simply breaking a window on the right side and climbing through that way.
If you want to take the Solid-Snake-Splinter-Cell-Stealth approach, Richard can find an air vent inside of the first floor Women’s restroom which will allow you to bypass most of the guards on the first and second floors.
Once Richard makes it to the second floor, you will find more guards that you probably weren’t able to mark from the first floor. take this time to mark them and make your way to the Dean’s office where you will start a cutscene which explains how Squealy absolutely fudged the operation and you have to bail. It then asks you to break and jump through a window. Once you land, you will enter the game’s Title Sequence.
Welcome to Libertine!
Once Richard regains control inside his new apartment, Jeremy will knock on your door and explain that the last job went terrible, but he has plans to find an even better score. While you wait for his new plan, he recommends reconnecting with Richard’s childhood friend Megan. After the cutscene, you should receive a text message from Megan, telling Richard that she is currently waiting for him downstairs. She will direct you towards the Lucky Lionel statue which engages a cutscene where Richard will meet Bushido Bill, this game’s skill tree system, and be gifted with a new melee weapon, the Stick! For those who already have the Nightstick equipped, it will force you to drop your weapon in order to equip the stick. The Nightstick can be grabbed again once you regain control.
Megan will comment on how it is strange that bill wanted to talk to you, even though you’re brand new here, but it is brushed off quickly as you two are quite hungry!
She will continue to direct you towards the metro, explaining how the Travel System in this game operates(Don’t worry, Richard has a lifetime metro pass, so you have unlimited free travel), and directs you to travel to The Strip. Upon arrival, she will give you a brief explanation of the stores on The Strip before directing us across the street to get some fast food.
When you enter the fast food restaurant, it will engage a cutscene wherein a random customer is berating one of the cashiers. This will introduce you to the dialogue selection system within the game, allowing you to choose your response among a selection of 3. Once you finish eating, Megan will quickly realize that she has an exam she needs to study for, except, OH NO! She left all her books at The Library! She will continue to direct you back to the metro in order to travel there.
Mission 1: The Library
Upon your arrival to The Library, you will quickly notice that things aren’t exactly normal. It seems as though, for no apparent reason, the local armed police have decided to lockdown the library, opting to shoot trespassers on site. YIKES! Megan tells you that she really needs her bag to study for her exam, but has no idea how long the guards will occupy the library. Luckily, Richard knows a thing or two about espionage(hopefully) and elects to get her books for her.
This is where the game will explain how hostile areas work, represented by the large Red borders. Basically, if an enemy catches you inside of a hostile area, they will Alert which will cause every other enemy to Alert as well!
Best practice here is to remain unseen. On the left side of the library, there is an alley that leads to the back of the library, which has a window you can break and enter into. There are two guards on the way to the window, but they can be taken care of easily, as there are plenty of physics objects to throw at them. Once you have one pacified, feel free to add their ACWI rifle to your collection.
Once you reach the window, you will be able to see the backpack highlight beneath you. In front of you, there will be one static guard and one patrolling guard. Take them out or ignore them. Make sure to use your camera, as there is another guard patrolling directly in front of the backpack.
Once you have the backpack, you could leave, or you could grab the cellphone on the second floor hallway guarded by two face to face static guards and one patrolling guard.
The cellphone displays text message confirmation of why the police thought it necessary to occupy The Library.
Once you’ve gotten everything you need, you can travel back to Megan, who is surprised and amazed that you were able to get her bag.
Now that you’ve finished your first mission, you’ve received an experience point. Make sure to speak to Bushido Bill whenever you have a point to spend, but especially here, before going back to your apartment as he gives you your first pistol, the Roger .45(a personal favorite). When you arrive back at your apartment, the game will then explain how the day cycles operate in this game. If you’d like, you can also access your weapon storage in your room. It will contain every weapon you have held, even if only once like the Wood Stick. Go ahead and wait or take a nap in your bed. When you awake, you’ll receive a text message from Megan about how She and Courtney are ready to meet you at The Beach, during the day. You may have to wait or take a nap again to make it daytime.
When you arrive at the beach, a cutscene will play introducing you to Courtney, who is already in her bathing suit. Megan forgot to change, so she goes to the restrooms. Richard also hasn’t changed yet, so he also goes to the restrooms. Once everyone is beach ready, Courtney and Megan start sun bathing before explaining that the sun is pretty bright and they need a parasol, however, the only parasol on the beach is guarded by some dudes with bats(make sure you grab one, as the bat melee weapon will not appear again). If you’re nervous about getting into a 4v1, there are some chairs behind the girls that you can throw at them to even the odds.
Courtney 1
Once you’ve retrieved the parasol and returned to Courtney and Megan, you will have your first dialogue choices with Courtney.
1. I prefer relaxing at home with friends, it’s more intimate. +1 AP
2. I prefer hanging out with you. +2AP
3. I don’t get out much. +0AP
it will automatically become night and the girls will commence a dance contest, allowing you to be the judge! Once the cutscene ends, You will gain another experience point and it will be daytime again. Curiously, there will now be two parasols on the beach! Before you go back home, make sure to check the dumpsters next to the changing rooms for another new melee weapon, the Sledgehammer.
During the contest Megan drank a bit too much and she’s worried she may have embarrassed herself. You should have a new objective on your phone to get her a gift, at The Strip during the day, in order to show no hard feelings. I don’t recommend doing this objective immediately. Instead, go home, read the text message from Jeremy about meeting you in your Apartment at night, and speak to Bushido Bill. He will give you your first gadget the Napkin Launcher. Essentially, it is a claymore that uses physics objects to pacify enemies non-lethally. Now you can go home and take a nap. When you wake up, Jeremy will be waiting for you in your apartment. At this point in the game, you can make the choice of whether you want to Play Main Quest, or to Skip it in order to play the Alternate Quest. I recommend saving the Alternate Quest for one of your New Game+ runs(yes this game has NG+) since the ending is a bit tougher to get to and there are not so many locations or characters you can meet, beyond Courtney or Megan.
However, completing the Alternate Quest will award the player with two new outfits, Jeremy and Squealy.
For the rest of this walkthrough, I will Play Main Quest.
Jeremy explains that he’s found a new score, possibly worth 10’s of K’s. A simple smash and grab job involving a golden statue owned by some rich guy. Richard is a bit apprehensive when he learns that the info came from Squealy, but eventually, the profit margin is way too good to refuse. One last job, one last score and he would be set in this new city. So he agrees.
Mission 2: Country House
When you start this mission, you may be overwhelmed at the size of the hostile area as well as the small army guarding the property. As armed as we are now, it would be a discernable death sentence to head straight in, though it is possible if you’re more of the sneaking type. I will recommend a different route. Take a hard left and follow the gate on your right until you see a tennis court. You should be able to find a break in the fence around the swimming pool area, which you can jump through. There is one guard at the pool, one guard patrolling in the front of the house and two guards facing each other in front of the guest house. You can get the AEK-110 rifle and the Hatchet melee weapon from them. There seems to be a entry to the main house from the pool area, however, its locked tight and we will need to find a key. There is a key in the garage. Once you have gained entry, head upstairs and grab the statue. Before heading out, we should visit the guest house as well. Inside, you’ll find a short journal entry about someone who doesn’t get along with their dad and, in the kitchen, a new melee weapon, the Cleaver. The Cleaver and the Hatchet are special. In the guest house, there is a locked door next to the journal, leading to the garage. There are two more locked doors in the main house, one on the first floor facing the stairs and one on the second floor in the master bedroom. There are no keys for these doors, however, you can break them by using your Cleaver or Hatchet!
Once you leave the property, Jeremy will speed off into the night and you’ll engage a cutscene where Squealy reveals that you didn’t just steal from some rich dude, you stole from the leader of the Irish Vikings gang! In their excitement, they accidentally break the statue, revealing a playing card inside. Squealy explains that this playing card is way too dangerous to hold and Richard suggests returning it. The gang has no other options, so they agree. When the cutscene ends, you will gain an experience point. Although, its night now and Bushido Bill isn’t there, so we will have to take a nap or wait for day time. When you wake up you’ll receive a text message from Courtney about meeting her at a night club, on The Strip at night. Before you leave the Downtown area, take a hard left outside of your front door and go straight until you find two parked cars. You should be able to find a new melee weapon here, the Golf Club. Talking to Bushido Bill gives you a new ability, Snatch. It will be useful for the next mission so don’t skip it! Since Courtney wants to meet at night, we will have to wait again, but we will travel to The Strip first.
When you visit The Strip at night, you’ll be able to hear the nightclub music from the metro stairs. Courtney will be waiting for you. A cutscene will engage explaining how Courtney wants you to get a VIP pass so you two can drink in the private lounge. You will start this objective dancing with Courtney. There are a few ways that you can get the pass, including buying it, however, we can use the Snatch ability to get it for free without hurting anyone!
Use the standing Snatch command on Courtney to make her into a distraction. It should attract everyone in the bar to her, allowing you to grab the VIP pass easy peasy!
Now just head upstairs and you can continue talking to Courtney.
Courtney 2
1. Get a job at an office, sitting at a computer. +0AP
2. Sell your body. +2AP
3. Use a webcam to sell your body. +1AP
She explains how she really wants to find a job that fits so she can afford to go to a music festival, but may need some equipment first. Specifically a webcam. Since she doesn’t have any money for one, she asks Richard to get her one as a favor, to which he agrees. She then decides that she will also do a favor for Richard and texts him an invite for “Some Bonding” in the Women’s restroom. Before you leave, make sure to stop by the Men’s restroom for a new melee weapon, the Pipe Wrench.
Now, head back to Downtown and wait until day. Courtney will text you about where to drop off the webcam she wants. The electronics store is back on The Strip! Go ahead and head back there. You will notice a commotion happening in front of the electronics store. Approaching the situation will engage a cutscene introducing you to a new character, Nissa, who already has a job for you! She believes that a group of vampires have stolen her spoon and asks that you get it back for her. Once that cutscene ends, a second will start immediately wherein you purchase a webcam for Courtney. Before we leave, we should cross the street to buy a gift for Megan at the Lady Style store. On our way back to the metro, to deliver these gifts, we should stop by the gun store to get some gun accessories. By now, you should have about $600. Feel free to buy what you’d like, however, I strongly recommend a suppressor. I also bought a red dot. To equip your accessories, hold the weapon you want to modify and press T(RB+B for Xbones). Now we can head over to Megan’s to drop off our gift! We end up leaving it outside her door and travelling back to Downtown. Let’s head over to Courtney’s now.
When we arrive, we will receive a text message from Megan thanking us for the great gift. She also sends a couple pictures of her holding it, how sweet! Before speaking to Courtney, we can look in her sink to find a new melee weapon, the Frying Pan. Now we can head back to The Strip to meet Megan for lunch. She will be waiting for us inside of the diner at the end of the street. After eating together, she invites you back to her apartment for some late night gaming, just like when we were kids. When the cutscene ends, you can grab the Pool Cue melee weapon from the pool tables. Now we can head home and take a nap. When we wake up, our computer will be highlighted allowing us to watch Courtney streaming with the new webcam we got her! When she’s finished streaming, we should receive a text message from Squealy saying he setup that meeting to return the playing card. We will have to do the meeting during the day, so while its still dark out we can head over to Megan’s apartment. Megan seems to be in the shower, which gives us a bit of time to snoop around her room. We can grab a new melee weapon, the Hockey Stick, as well as viewing her journal, seeing the gift we got her on her bed, and finding something a bit “Vibrant” in her bedside drawer. When she returns, she invites us to play some video games introducing some competitive stakes where the loser must “reward” the winner. I’ll be honest. She’s cracked at this game. If you win, you will unlock a new costume, Tactical Richard, but it will change what scene plays afterwards. When the cutscene ends, it will be day time again so lets head over to the Viking Warehouse and meet with tha bois.
When we arrive at the Viking Warehouse, things seem chill, until we hand the card over. Sheamus turns on us and is about to deliver street justice when the warehouse is assaulted by.. Robots?! They’re kinda cute too. Luckily, Jeremy and Squealy were able to escape before things get too heated. It turns out, Sheamus lost the card again when the bots stormed his warehouse(just now) and now he wants you to settle your debt with him by getting back his key, as well as taking the key from the leader of a rival gang, the Doujins. Luckily, we don’t have to do it alone. He’s also sending his daughter Kara with us, to make sure we don’t try any funny business. Before we head to the Doujin headquarters, we make a pit stop at Bushido Bill’s to pick up some C4 explosive satchels.
Mission 3: Nortech
Now, this tower is tough to waltz into. First, i would use a silenced pistol to take out the only human guard at the entrance, as well as the camera, and grab a new melee weapon, the Baton. For this next part, we have two options for entry. We can go in through the back door or through the front door. The front door entry requires that we get passed all the guards in the gated area, but allows us to engage in a scripted sequence where Kara kills about a third of the enemies on the first floor. This is very impressive as a single Doujin bot can take up to 6 headshots of 7.62×39 before falling!
Kara 1
1. Stealth. +0AP
2. Guns blazing. +1AP
3. Kara leads. +2AP and scripted event.
To enter through the back door, follow the street back to the metro stairs and then turn left and follow that street all the way to the back. To your right, there will be some blue barrels that you can use to climb over the wooden fence on your left. Whichever option you choose, clear out the enemies, grab their weapons; Doujin Sword melee/Doujin Rail Gun rifle, go up the stairs and enter the metal doors on the other side of the second floor. The next three rooms will be similar. Go through the door, kill 6-8 Doujin bots, get to the door, repeat. Be cautious about where the bodies fall, as some Doujin bots will explode after death, dealing damage to Kara as well as fatal damage to the player and any Doujin bots caught in the blast. You can always command Kara to hide and then bring her back when the bomb is gone.
When you reach the top floor, there will be a room that has no enemies. At the end of the hallway, you will engage a cutscene in Where Magnus activates two ARA-K(Kara backwards) bots who are both armed with AEK-110 rifles, before attacking you himself as well. However, there is an option to stealth kill him instead, skipping the cutscene where he activates the bots. In the large empty room, there will be a rather narrow hallway with colored panels on the walls. If you melee attack the colored panels on either side, it will reveal a vent that you can take into the boss arena, catching Magnus completely unawares. Stealth killing him unlocks a new outfit, Cyber Richard.
However you choose to kill him, the same cutscene will play, where Kara finishes him off personally. When the cutscene ends, you can pick up a new melee weapon, the Daikatana, as well as two new gadgets, the Vortex Push and the Vortex Pull. Feel free to test them out on the pillows area, they’re quite fun.
When you exit the boss room, you should appear at the metro stairs, while the time has changed to night. You’ll receive a text message from Kara saying that she spoke to her dad and to standby for further instructions. Since its night time and we have some time to kill before Bushido Bill can give us our next upgrade, lets travel back to Downtown. When we arrive, we will get a text message from Courtney asking if we’re interested in a “Collaboration Project” for her stream, so let’s visit Courtney while its still dark out.
When you arrive, Courtney will be waiting in the kitchen.
Courtney AP Check
After the stream, you will have a chance to confess your affection for her or just stay friends. Choose the option that best suits you, but keep in mind that confessing to her with less than 4AP nets you an extra experience point but will ruin your relationship with her. Its still night time and we have some skill points burning a hole in our pocket, so lets head to Downtown and take a nap in the park. Upon returning to Downtown, you should get a text message from Kara regarding the meeting with her father to deliver the keys he asked for. If you ruined your relationship with Courtney, it may take some extra time before you get this message as Courtney needs to message you during the day, first.
Talking to Bushido Bill rewards you with a new rifle (A personal favorite) the Maco AR-8.
Now we can head back to the Viking Warehouse. Before we talk to Sheamus, lets walk to the right and visit the far warehouse. Inside, you’ll find a bunch of folding chairs surrounding a wooden arena. In the center of the arena, you’ll find a new melee weapon, the Pipe.
After talking to Sheamus, it turns out there’s only one more key and he’s adjusted our agreement to include procurement of said key. He recommends we bring Kara along, but she says that the gang who holds the third key is much more dangerous and that she’s getting cold feet, so Richard tells her to stay behind and goes to the Castle by himself.
Kara 2
1. It’s pointless if we both die. +1AP
2. Just relax; Ride a pony and brush your hair. +2AP
3. You deserve a break. +0AP
When we arrive, it will be night time(Visiting the Watcher’s Castle always forces the time to change to night) and we will receive a text message from Jeremy, making sure we survived the ambush at the Viking Warehouse, earlier. As you walk down the path towards the Castle Bridge, make sure to stay on the right side of the path, as there is a new melee weapon embedded in a tree, the Machete. If you follow the right side of the path, you’ll find a segment of wooden fencing. The machete is directly between the farthest edge of that fence segment and the street. As you make your way towards the Castle, you’ll be stopped by Nightstalkers who seem to have apparated from thin air. They subdue you and escort you inside the Castle, opting to use your skills instead of killing you immediately.
You are introduced to the leader of the Watcher’s and the self proclaimed heir to the Lucky Lionel fortune, Dylan Grayson. He comments on how holding his key is more trouble than its worth, so he agrees to hand it to you if you can complete a task for him. His organization recently lost a hospital to a raid lead by Sheamus and his Irish Vikings a couple years prior.
While they burned most of it to the ground, they have recently learned of some pretty valuable documents that they want Richard to retrieve. One of their members, Marya, who will soon be promoted, is tasked with making sure I finish my mission. You will also be instructed to resist looking at the files.
When we gain control again, bust a hard left and follow the stair way up. Follow the path on your right until you reach a door on your right which has something behind it. Reading the phone tells you about some type of killer that has been effecting the Watcher’s for the last 2 years. Reading the journal reveals that they have been keeping a close eye on Richard, and accessing the surveillance room to the right will allow you to grab Nissa’s missing Spoon.
Mission 4: The Hospital
This segment is quite creepy, so I really don’t want to tell you how to play it. However, there are six cellphones that develop the subplot.
When you enter the parking lot of the Hospital, Marya will engage in a Kill Count check.
1. Have killed. -3AP
2. Have not killed. +2AP
In the bathroom behind the fifth cellphone, you will find the journal of a mad man as well as a new melee weapon, the Wrench. Now you own the Trinity; The Pipe, the Wrench and the Pipe wrench!
Marya 1
After you finish this segment, you will need to speak to Marya before you both are teleported back to the Castle. She will be in shock from having to kill someone and asks you how she should feel about it.
1. Nobody cares. +0AP
2. No one will blame you. +1AP
3. You should have listened to me. +2AP
When you arrive back at the Castle, Dylan is pleased and gives you his key without any arguments. You also gain an experience point!
Travelling back Downtown, you will receive a text message from Kara where you tell her you have the key and she asks you to standby for further instruction. Let’s take a nap in the park and talk to Bushido Bill! This time, he gives us another gadget, the Electrobow. Its functionally the same as the Napkin Launcher, however, it is lethal to any soft targets and extremely effective at disabling Doujin bots. We will need this for our next mission!
Since it is day and we have some time to kill, let’s revisit the Library. When we arrive, we will get a text message from Kara asking to meet her at our apartment during the day. You may notice that the Library has changed a bit. No more hostile area and mound of dirt by the picnic area to the left. Lets check out the picnic area, where we can find a new melee weapon(A personal favorite) the Shovel. Now that the library isn’t hostile to us anymore, we can openly walk through it. If you can get to the top floor and walk through the outdoor area on the right, you will find some scaffolding. Using crouch-jumping, we can climb to the top and grab a new melee weapon, the Hammer.
Let’s meet up with Kara! Back Downtown we go. We can meet her just in front of our apartment door, however, after our dialogue, we will have to go into our apartment to continue talking to her. She tells Richard about how she desperately wants to live a normal life, away from all the gang involvement of her father. As a catalyst for this great change, Richard invites Megan over to help Kara learn how to cook.
Kara 3
1. I’m proud of you. +2AP
2. You’ll make a great housewife. +1AP
3. I knew you would pull through. +0AP
After eating, Megan gets an urgent text from her mother and has to leave. Kara then asks to change into more comfortable clothes. While you’re waiting for her to change, you will receive a text message from Megan explaining that she totally supports you and Kara being together. Kara comes back wearing only a t-shirt and panties and begins to perform some “Team Building Exercises” with Richard on his couch.
When the cutscene ends, you will get a text message from Marya asking if you would meet her at the Watcher’s Castle for her Promotion Ceremony.
At this point in time, you should be back to $600. It would be a suitable time to revisit the gun store for a few more accessories. In this run, i will wait a bit longer to afford the NVG for $800. Upon travelling to the Watcher’s Castle, you will meet Marya by the main doors and engage a cutscene. There is a dialogue event, but Marya tells you the answer during the earlier cutscene. Part of the promotion ceremony involves “Strengthening Team Synergy” which occurs in full view off all in the castle. When the cutscene ends, Marya is overjoyed about her promotion. However, Lilith pulls you aside to discuss an important matter. Despite Dylan asking her to also not look at the documents, she read them anyway and has become suspicious of Dylan. She tells you that she will have a task for you soon, but wants to invite you to a Ball that she will host in the near future. Be cautious here. If Lilith witnesses you interact with the cellphone, the journal, or the door to the surveillance, she will call for your execution.
Upon leaving her room, Marya will be waiting for you with some sharp words.
Marya 2
1. Maybe you need a master who loves you back. +1AP
2. You should forgive yourself. +0AP
3. You don’t need a master. +2AP
We’re done here for now, so let’s get back Downtown. When we arrive, we will get a text message from Kara regarding a dinner date. However, Kara doesn’t think any of her clothes are fancy enough, so she requests inviting Megan to go shopping with us. Lets take a nap and jet to the Strip. Once you do, you will begin a series of cutscenes ending in being ambushed at the restaurant. You will need to fend off one ARA-K bot as well as several Doujin bots. Immediately, there will be two Rail Guns point at you, so i recommend busting a hard left, sprinting and crouch-sliding behind the red car parked on the street. From there, using a rifle or commanding Kara makes this part simple. If you have gadget ammo, using C4 on the immediate threats is also a good option here. Using a camera here and looking at yourself reveals a unique costume that you cant unlock in game; Dapper Richard.
After the assault on the eatery, Kara will be in shreds. This type of ambush is exactly why she wishes her life can be normal, which now seems impossible with an army of robots hunting the one who assassinated their leader. Richard reassures Kara that everything will be alright and that he will find a way to stop the bots from being produced.
After you regain control, you can go directly to the factory, however, for this run, i will take a nap on the Strip so i can purchase some NVGs at the gun store.
Mission 5: The Doujin Factory
When you travel to the Doujin Factory it will always be night. As Richard is approaching the front gate, Kara reveals herself saying that she couldn’t let Richard do this on his own. For this section, there is not much I can advise. There is a wide variety of enemy types here, both melee and ranged, some soft targets and some bots. Make your way to the other side of the level to find a vent positioned low on the wall. Once you enter, you will have to make your way downstairs to the far side of the factory, where you will need to go upstairs to activate the main computer failsafe. Inside the factory is even more dangerous than the first section. There are no soft targets, about 10 Doujin bots, melee and ranged, as well as 3 ARA-K bots guarding the stair case to the main computer.
Upon reaching the computer, a cutscene will engage which culminates with the entire base blaring an alarm and an announcer on the PA counting down the time until detonation.
Just run to the other side of the warehouse, remaining on the first floor, where you will engage a cutscene watching the factory fall. Interestingly enough, if you standby while the factory detonates, it doesn’t actually kill you, though it does kill Kara, which forces you to reload a prior save. From here on out, the Doujin Factory travel point will be renamed to “Doujin Factory(Destroyed)” and will no longer be accessible.
When the cutscene ends, you and Kara will meet in front of your apartment Downtown and you will gain an experience point.
Since it is night time, ill take a nap in the park. When i wake up, i get a text from Courtney regarding that music festival. She says she’s ready to go anytime, but for this run, I’ll hold off for now. Time to see what Bushido Bill has for us! This time, he teaches us a new ability, “Tiny Silent Spider Feet” which allows our steps to be less audible, even while sprinting. Since there is no active objective other than the music festival, I’m gonna nap in the park again. When i wake up, i get a text from Kara saying she wants to meet in the Cabin by the Lake, at night, for dinner. Well, its night time now, so let’s go ahead.
Kara finale
As I arrive at the Lake Cabin, I get a text message from Lilith informing me that the ball will be ready the next time I visit the Castle. After the cutscene, you’ll unlock Kara’s outfit and you should now be able to summon her as a follower from your phone. Before we talk to Lilith, I’m going to stop at the gun store to buy a Tactical Stock.
When you enter the Watcher’s Castle, you’ll notice that there is some soft music playing instead of the more gothic scores. Upon entering the banquet hall, you will be given the choice to dance with either Lilith or Marya. In this run, i will choose Marya, however, if you chose Lilith, she does provide a bit of subplot after the cutscene.
After your night with Marya, she will ask to meet you before her next mission, at Claret’s Peak. Be cautious. If you have been following along with me and also got the NVGs, there will be Lightning effects through the middle of this section(From the time you light the fireplace to the time you reach the dock house) using NVGs during a lightning storm is detrimental, so i suggest being ready to switch to your flashlight until you’ve reached the dock house.(Can swap flashlight modes from the flashlight app on your phone.)
This section will start with your car breaking down on the way to the peak. Upon getting out to continue on foot, you and Marya stop to admire the scenic overlook. Suddenly, a naked, bald, woman appears and proceeds to “Expedite Gravity” by way of “Racing you to the ground” and winning in the next moment. This next section is mostly exploring, so i don’t have much more to say. You will need to travel through the forest to collect a key from the dock house. Make sure you follow the light posts as this will be an important mechanic for this stage. Soon, you will start to hear other voices in the forest and you will have to defend yourself from a few ambushes. Make sure to grab a GMT SBR for your armory. Once you reach the dock house, the rain and lightning will cease, though there is still potential ambushes, depending on how fast you were able to reach the dock house. On your way back, try to stay towards the right side, You should be able to find a singular fluorescent lamp illuminating a pile of corpses in a pit. Underneath the corpse pile, you’ll find a new melee weapon, the Tree Branch. When you return to the small settlement, you will be able to access the next area in the basement of the locked house.
Mission 6: Claret’s Lab
Going into the basement will take you to Claret’s Lab. Plenty of Nightstalkers and cameras here, so stay vigilant and mark enemies often. Please bear in mind that some cameras will be harder to spot if you’re wearing NVGs. Marya doesn’t fire as quickly as Kara, but she can take a whole lot more damage from Nightstalkers. Make sure you utilize her strengths as you push through the labs. When you reach the Blood Processing labs, Lilith will appear to talk to you about overthrowing Samael for control of the Castle.
When you’re ready to depart, speak to her and she will take you back to the Watcher’s Castle, except this time she will highlight an alternate entrance underneath the bridge.
Mission 7: The Catacombs
When you’ve made it through, you will be able to see some alert icons through the door. If you want to take the stealth route, you can wait for them to disappear before entering. If not, be ready for good fight!
However you choose to defeat him, a cutscene will play and Lilith will appear and inform you that Marya is “visiting her parents”. Before you leave, make sure to pilfer Samael’s corpse, as he will give you a new melee weapon, (a personal favorite) the Rapier, as well as a new pistol, the Desert Eagle.
Well, Marya’s parents’ names are both on tombstones, so let’s check to see if we can find her at the Cemetery. Before we speak with her, we can enter the cemetery and turn right. Among the tombs along the back wall we can find a new melee weapon: the Crowbar.
Abigail AP check
When we speak with Mary- Abigail, she will explain how she isn’t very happy living for the Watcher’s anymore but before she can continue, Lilith appears and offers you a place by her side if you “Solve the Abigail problem” for her here and now. Doing so will end the game, so I’m going to choose “No”. In response, she sends a strike team to try and finish us off in the Cemetery. We do have the option to summon Kara from our phone here, but the enemies have a tendency to line up pretty well, so feel free to get creative here. Abigail eventually agrees to help stop them altogether.
At this point in the game, if you’ve been following along with me, you should have about $450 dollars. That’s just short of buying a new optic, but its more than enough for the muzzle break. I’m going to take the time now to procure one from the gun shop before facing the Watcher’s head on. Making sure to travel back to the Cemetery and waiting until night time to pick Abigail back up
Mission 8: Confront Lilith
This next segment will be wildly different for people who have already completed the Fireball Festival mission. In this run, i have yet to attend the festival, so i will first explain that path. You can choose to walk in through the front door, although, it makes for a tough fight, as Lilith can summon half a dozen Nightstalkers whenever she doesn’t have any left. You can attempt to exploit this by kiting a single unit somewhere that Abigail wont shoot him, although, being that you now have two lose conditions(Abigail’s health bar as well as your own). If you choose the stealth route, then this part should be pretty easy, as we just ended the last leader of the Watcher’s about 10 minutes ago, and we plan to do the same thing again for this leader. Be wary of the bridge this time, there are roughly a dozen Nightstalkers guarding it. Before you reach the bottom of the path downward, be sure to take out the half dozen Nightstalkers in front of the Catacombs door.
Nothing changes much here. Same enemy locations and now you have a Follower. When you get through the final door, you will also notice that we dont have to wait for the alert to drop and we can head right in. However, i would recommend asking Abigail to wait in a corner in the boss room. It will become harder to stay hidden with Abigail’s itchy trigger finger. For those who have already attended the Fireball Festival, you’ll notice that this level is very different. Every enemy you find will appear to be dead and desecrated. From the bridge to the Catacombs to the boss herself even! However, you’ll notice that Lilith’s sword is now not obtainable. For everyone else, you’ll find a a new melee weapon, the Sword, near her body.
Abigail still has a score to settle, so let’s go back to that scenic overlook together for one last “blast”. After the sick Michael Bay cutscene, we are both teleported back to the Cemetery, where Abigail invites us to the ballet. She will meet us at our apartment at night. Since its day time now, why don’t we stop by Bushido Bill and spend that Experience point. When we arrive Downtown, Jeremy will send us a message asking if were ready to settle the debt with the Vikings by giving them the final key.
Bushido Bill has a new pistol for us, the PMP-9. Well, why don’t we visit Courtney for that music festival now?
Upon arriving at the festival, Courtney is excited to “Open her Minds Eye” and asks you to find her some base while she sets up camp. Nobody you talk too will be able to help you out, unless you go into the crowd in front of the stage. There you will find an old friend, Nissa! She mentions that she’s found a new Spoon, but she also has some Blood for you and Courtney. All she asks in return is that you knock out the guard without a helmet and leave his body in the area marked by a blue barrier. If you’re finding it difficult to drag the bodies out of sight, reloading a save will purge any dead body assets. Upon completion of the task, Nissa will reward you with some Blood and a cutscene where Richard, Courtney and Nissa have a 3-way “Thumb Wrestling Derby”.
When the cutscene ends, Richard will arrive back at the Downtown metro during the day and we will have a new skill point. Let’s speak with Bushido Bill again.
He gives us his personal katana; Bill’s Katana. This sword is the end all for any soft targets, however, for bots, I still prefer the Shovel.
Abigail finale
Wait until night so we can meet with Abigail. After the cutscene, you will unlock her outfit and you will now be able to summon Abigail as a follower from your phone.
When you regain control, Richard will get a text message from Megan about revisiting Elwood together. So, let’s head there now. When Richard arrives at Megan’s, he will get a text from Nissa asking to meet in your apartment. She also sends a picture.. Why does that ceiling light look so familiar?
Megan Finale
When Richard and Megan arrive in Elwood, Richards childhood home is unoccupied, but the tree house is still standing. Richard and Megan decide they want to hang out up there, for the nostalgia, but the ladder up is broken. This section allows for some creativity as there are two win conditions. The first win condition is just to simply walk inside the treehouse. There’s plenty of physics prop to build up and climb on to get inside. The second is to gather three items; The rope: attached to the treehouse supports, the saw: stuck in the only tree stump in the neighborhood; opposite side of the area from the bus, and the hammer: inside the master bedroom. You may also noticed a locked door with a keypad in the master bedroom. Clearly, there is some sort of rifle in the locked room. From the outside of the house, it is possible to use your camera on the window outside in order to get a better view of the rifle. You can even zoom in enough to read its serial number, though, it may be incomplete as most serial numbers are double that, and include letters.
When you finish the cutscene with Megan, Richard will still be inside the treehouse. You will now be able to use your phone to summon Megan as a follower. Make sure to turn around and grab a new melee weapon, the Guitar. Seems like we have just enough scratch to get the other optic for our gun, which completes the collection, so I’m gonna head there before going back to my apartment. Upon arriving at the Strip, Richard will get a text from Kara confirming a meeting time with her dad, at the Viking Warehouse during the day.
When Richard arrives back at his apartment, he will find Nissa casually sitting in his living room. Wait.. that ceiling light in the picture was from my kitchen??
Mission 9: The Lake/ Nissa finale
Starting the mission with Nissa will send us to the Lake level during the night. Nissa briefly explains that she’s here to have a chat with a vampire, but we may have to deal with some guards along the way. There’s about 30 of them, though you can avoid most of them and commanding Nissa to stealth finisher them makes this a breeze. Just make sure you remember to tell her to stop waiting, or she may get lost easily. You can also hide her and reveal her again to get her to stop waiting. When you reach the cabin at the top of the hill(Oh, the memories) be sure to grab the new melee weapon on the pile of logs, the Axe. When Nissa’s cutscene finishes you’ll unlock her costume and you will now be able to use your phone to summon Nissa as a follower. Also, if you followed along and grabbed the Spoon from the surveillance room in the Castle, you will unlock a new melee weapon, the Spoon Of Doom!
Let’s meet with the Vikings and finally settle this life-debt with Sheamus.
-is what i would have said. If Sheamus wasn’t so much of a Sneaky Snake!
He turns on us, AGAIN, but this time, Jeremy, Richard and Squealy are unable to escape unharmed.
Richard is saved, AGAIN, but this time by an old friend, Bushido Bill??
Waking up in the hospital, Bushido Bill removes his helmet and reveals where your father has been hiding this entire time.
For those that are observant, you’ll have noticed that Richard got a text message during the Viking Warehouse cutscene that we weren’t able to view. Now that we can, we see it was a warning from Kara, telling us not to meet with her dad.
We got an experience point, so let’s go speak with Post-Bushido Bill and see what he has in store for us!
He actually doesn’t give us anything new, but he does tell us how to find the code for the locked room, in Elwood, which contains his rifle. It was the serial number after all! Lets head there now and get that new rifle, the VS Torez. It also comes with an 8x scope which we can place on other weapons too! Great find!
Mission 10: Abandoned Airbase
We have reached the end of the game.
If you have followed along with my guide, you should have every weapon, weapon attachment, as well as every achievement and outfit except for three.
The Viking outfit will be unlocked when you finish the Abandoned Airbase stage, while the Jeremy and Squealy outfits are unlocked by beating the Alternate Quest, from the second time you spoke with Jeremy in Richard’s apartment.
You can also get a Hidden Achievement by unlocking the Alternate Quest outfits
If you have completed the game with no kills, you will unlock the Clear Conscience achievement.
The last missing one should be from failing a relationship with Abigail or Kara.
Have fun =) Source
